Get to Know Theresa Winther
Theresa Winther is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice and the Owner of One Step Forward LLC - Which provides Virtual Therapy for Individuals, Couples, and Families. She is an Adjunct Professor at Antioch in Seattle, a therapist in the group practice at Envision Counseling, and a candidate for AAMFT supervisor. Theresa is passionate about ensuring WAMFT members are included and given access to all their membership benefits and providing opportunities for partnering and collaboration for the profession. Her involvement in WAMFT began with membership in 1993, board member at large in 2019, and presently serving on the executive committee as the Board Secretary. During her board member at large time, Theresa was chair of the Ethics, Training, and Standards committee that implemented and sustained the Ethics Spring Series that provides continued education to members and CEUs. Presently, Theresa is the Co-Chair of the Legislative and Advocacy Committee, spearheading WAMFT's voice at the state level for members and future MFTs. Theresa finds joy living in Tacoma, where she is near family and friends from her childhood. She is a WSU Coug and a PLU Owl with a focus on substance use disorders and EMDR as two specializations.
