
We are excited to announce the call for proposals for the 2025 WAMFT Annual Fall Conference. This year’s conference will highlight the innovative, creative, and interdisciplinary ways systemic therapists are expanding their reach, shaping conversations, and deepening healing practices in the field.

Conference Theme: "Systemic Futures: Creative Approaches to Dialogue and Healing" invites presenters from all backgrounds to explore different facets of systemic therapy’s evolving future. Our conference will offer a platform for innovative ideas and insightful discussions.
Our 2025 conference will feature three core tracks for you to explore:
Expanding Systemic Therapy: Explore creative, interdisciplinary, and emerging approaches that broaden the impact of systemic therapy.
Topics may include:
Play therapy, art therapy, nature therapy, sex therapy, and expressive modalities
Integrating social media, podcasts, and digital platforms into therapy and advocacy
New specializations and credentials shaping the field
The intersection of systemic therapy with coaching and public education
Healing the Healers: Self-Care, Resilience, and Growth: Focusing on therapist well-being and professional sustainability, this track offers strategies to prevent burnout and promote growth.
Topics may include:
Therapist self-care and community care practices
Creative approaches to self-care (i.e. gaming, sound bath, cultural rituals for rest and renewal, dance/movement therapy, expressive writing, forest bathing, improv, art journaling, laughter therapy, etc.)
Navigating personal and professional identity development
Healing-centered supervision and mentorship
Advocacy, Justice, and Systemic Change: Highlighting the role of systemic therapists in social justice, advocacy, and community well-being.
Topics may include:
Using systemic therapy in activism and advocacy
Addressing systemic barriers to mental health care
Maintaining ethical boundaries while engaging in advocacy
The therapist’s role in shaping policy, research, and public discourse
Innovative approaches to working with historically marginalized communities
Special Considerations: This year, we aim for at least two-thirds of the presentations to be held in person to foster deeper connection and engagement. Virtual presentations will still be available to ensure accessibility.

We also encourage you to review our Guidelines for Writing Learning Outcomes/Objectives (LOs) to ensure your proposal aligns with best practices for clear, engaging, and measurable learning outcomes.
Workshop & Submission Info:
Workshops should be 45-50 minutes in length
Submission deadline June 30th, 2025.
