We are excited to announce the call for proposals for the 2025 WAMFT Annual Fall Conference. This year’s conference will highlight the innovative, creative, and interdisciplinary ways systemic therapists are expanding their reach, shaping conversations, and deepening healing practices in the field.

We want YOU to be a part of it!

Conference Theme: "Systemic Futures: Creative Approaches to Dialogue and Healing" invites presenters from all backgrounds to explore different facets of systemic therapy’s evolving future. Our conference will offer a platform for innovative ideas and insightful discussions.

Our 2025 conference will feature three core tracks for you to explore:

  1. Expanding Systemic Therapy: Explore creative, interdisciplinary, and emerging approaches that broaden the impact of systemic therapy.

    Topics may include:

    • Play therapy, art therapy, nature therapy, sex therapy, and expressive modalities

    • Integrating social media, podcasts, and digital platforms into therapy and advocacy

    • New specializations and credentials shaping the field

    • The intersection of systemic therapy with coaching and public education

  2. Healing the Healers: Self-Care, Resilience, and Growth: Focusing on therapist well-being and professional sustainability, this track offers strategies to prevent burnout and promote growth.

    Topics may include:

    • Therapist self-care and community care practices

    • Creative approaches to self-care (i.e. gaming, sound bath, cultural rituals for rest and renewal, dance/movement therapy, expressive writing, forest bathing, improv, art journaling, laughter therapy, etc.)

    • Navigating personal and professional identity development

    • Healing-centered supervision and mentorship

  3. Advocacy, Justice, and Systemic Change: Highlighting the role of systemic therapists in social justice, advocacy, and community well-being.

    Topics may include:

    • Using systemic therapy in activism and advocacy

    • Addressing systemic barriers to mental health care

    • Maintaining ethical boundaries while engaging in advocacy

    • The therapist’s role in shaping policy, research, and public discourse

Special Considerations: This year, we aim for at least two-thirds of the presentations to be held in person to foster deeper connection and engagement. Virtual presentations will still be available to ensure accessibility.
