On July 16, 2022, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline launched in Washington State following the passage of House Bill 1477 (E2SHB 1477) in 2021. The current National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) number, 1-800-273-TALK (8255) , remains active alongside 988.
